Google tests further searchfield
Now then, if this should continue, the next logical step is for my website to appear in the Google design. How do I draw this conclusion? Well, appearantly Google wants to take over the internal search on webpages with a new searchfield. Ok, the company claims that it reduces our efforts and that we would not have to struggle with annoying search related traffic anymore.
Currently Google is testing an additional searchfield, which allows you to directly search the targeted page by keyword through an additional searchfield. Actually not a bad idea. However, it looks to me that by doing so the searchengine is taking over one of the central services, respectivly functions of the webmasters that are able to present the results with custom searchfunctions. The searchengine-giant therefore places himself over my service and presents how he sees fit. Eventually they will find it more appropriate to present everything in a consistent design. In my opinion this is unacceptable. Somehow this once likable company is becomming more and more dislikable.
